Emily Mikkelson

Emily graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Green Engineering. Emily has held an array of internship positions with various organizations including Tomahawk, GE Hitachi, Owens Corning, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. Her main academic interests included heat transfer, the incorporation of aesthetics into mechanical design, and additive manufacturing. Emily graduatedwith her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with the DREAMS Lab in 2014 after investigating the thermal properties of the photopolymers used in PolyJet printing.
